About

Avery, Repair Tech/Owner

Avery started repairing instruments while in high school in order to maintain his school owned bari sax. After studying band instrument repair, and graduating from Renton Technical College, he began his apprenticeship under the well respected Fred Melk, in Milwaukee, WI. After leaving Melk Music, he taught Band Instrument Repair for 2 years before landing in Beloit. He started McDaniel Music Repair in 2017 as a way to never have to compromise his repairs. He has repaired instruments for symphony musicians, college professors, touring and gigging musicians, beginning students, and local schools, providing the same attention and care to every repair. In his spare time (what little of it he has), he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and their cat

McDaniel Music Repair, LLC

This company was started out of my apartment in 2017 on nothing more than a desk for a work station. What started out as mostly just somewhere for me to fix instruments to flip for some extra cash, has kept growing, and now offers repairs to customers in addition to the core of selling quality used and rebuilt instruments. I now have a dedicated space covering a large portion of my basement with equipment including a lathe, a 3D printer, and an ultrasonic cleaner, and I'm continually growing and expanding capabilities.

The logo is a combination of the alchemical symbols for Nickel, Brass, and Silver. Those are the three metals that make up this craft, and I do my best to work magic with them.
